To inaugurate its new era as a five-star establishment and member of the prestigious Small Luxury Hotels Of The World network, the Grand Hotel Bristol in Rapallo needed a fresh identity and to offer its guests a new narrative. It is said that Wes Anderson wrote the movie ”Grand Budapest Hotel” during a stay on the Portofino Coast. The resemblance with our client’s property is impossible to ignore. Through a meticulous study of the hotel and the surrounding area, we have crafted an identity that connects the past, present, and future along the fil rouge of Dolce Vita 2.0. In collaboration with the management, we have redefined the brand, now repositioned as a lifestyle, and created a new storytelling approach.
In the retelling of the Hotel, characters from the past who once stayed at the Grand Hotel Bristol have become the storytellers of untold episodes and services of the property, immersing current guests in tales of yesteryears. These characters are visually represented within a set of illustrations provided to guests upon their arrival.
From being a protagonist of the 19th-century Dolce Vita, the Grand Hotel Bristol in Rapallo has now become a centerpiece of Dolce Vita 2.0, where guests become ambassadors by sharing illustrations and their experiences on social media.
